The Position:
The O&M Manager position is a remote position that plays an important role with this rapidly growing company. This is a very dynamic and fast-track position reporting to the Director of Technical Services and O&M. The position will be the key member of service team. This is a highly technical customer facing position. This position will lead the development of the O&M specific programs and manage a small team of service engineers and multiple vendors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage a portfolio of PV solar plants and BESS plants, ensuring that all O&M works are undertaken in accordance with the contractual scope, efficiently and effectively.
• Hire, Develop, and Mentor Service Engineers and sub-contractors to undertake O&M works.
• Provide feedback to the team in a polite and non-judging way
• Listen and motivate a team of field service engineers to continue improving technically and providing high level support to internal and external customers
• Promote team collaboration and encourage creativity within your team
• Assure O&M team is properly trained and have the tools and procedures to perform the work. Anticipate to non-standard activities by providing proper procedures and protocols to the team.
• Manage the inventory on site for each contract to be able to achieve the targeted availability guarantee.
• Follow up on site reports for failures and maintenances as agreed with site owners.
• Cost control for each project based on agreed budgets.
• Select and Negotiate terms with vendors for the performance of O&M activities including full scope O&M vendors.
• Manage full scope O&M vendors and review their schedules and performance on a monthly basis or more frequently if a plant has low availability
• Ensure all vendors and service engineers are trained and work with the technical trainer to make necessary changes to the training.
• Support Service Management to identify and release documentation for applications involved in the installation, operation, testing and maintenance of central and string solar inverter
• Lead the development of O&M processes and documentation.
• Review contracts for to ensure that all O&M requirements are known and documented.
• Coordinate with Field Service team to take over any open issues or customer escalations following commissioning for assigned projects and lead the of open issues.
• React with sense of urgency to field issues and lead customer communication and follow up until issues are resolved and customer is satisfied
• Lead the communication (feedback) to the engineering team on possible mechanical and electrical design improvements
• Coordinate with customers for ideal downtime for the performance of Annual Preventative Maintenance Services.
• Perform inspection on site installations and provide written feedback to customers
• Actively participate on failure analysis process and serial defect projects providing continuous updates to engineering and customers
• Be proactive on experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternative, and provide recommendations
• Other Duties as Assigned.
