We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Drayage Dispatcher to coordinate the pickup and delivery of shipping containers between ports, rail yards, and customer locations. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of port and drayage operations specifically within the New York/New Jersey port region.

Responsibilities
• Coordinate and Schedule Shipments: Manage the pickup and delivery
of containers, ensuring timely and efficient transportation
• Communicate with Drivers: Provide drivers with detailed instructions
regarding routes, schedules, and any updates or delays
• Customer Interaction: Arrange times for shipments with customers and
address any inquiries or issues they may have
• Route Optimization: Make adjustments to routes throughout the day
based on customer requests and shipment arrangements
• Problem Solving: Resolve issues with ports and shipping lines, ensuring
smooth operations
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of drivers’ daily logs,
shipments, and any violations
• Cost Management: Understand and manage costs related to Per Diem
and Demurrage to minimize expenses
Skills and Knowledge
• Industry Knowledge: Understanding of transportation logistics and
freight management.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with dispatching software and tools,
such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and MS Office Suite
(Excel, Outlook).
