Position Summary
The dispatcher is responsible for coordinating the movement of goods and freight using inland transportation partners.
They work closely with customers, carriers, and other logistics professionals to ensure that shipments are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations. The dispatcher must possess strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a working knowledge of transportation logistics and routing.
They may also be responsible for tracking and reporting on shipment status, managing carrier relationships, and identifying and resolving any issues that may arise during the transportation process.
Top 5 tasks & responsibilities:
1. Create BOL´s with the carrier approved by the customer.
2. Schedule pickups with the carrier.
3. Send BOL and pickup instructions to the shipper/customer.
4. Answer inbound calls and emails from customers on any question.
5. Create the invoice with cost/sell rate and assign carrier to the invoice
6. Ad-hoc assignments.
