The Position: The Application Engineer for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) will provide technical support and expertise in the design, integration, and operation of BESS solutions. Reporting to the Technical Coordinator for ESS, this role is responsible for assisting in technical proposals, collaborating with clients, and ensuring the successful implementation of battery storage projects. The position requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and effective communication to support internal teams and external stakeholders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Pre-sales support and technical alignment with clients (EPCs/System Integrators, Inverters, Technical Advisors). • Support the sales team with technical solutions for the ESS system. • Become a trusted technical advisor for the client's engineering staff. • Follow the market demands of key accounts. • Establish a channel between the internal team and clients. • Interpret regulatory requirements and provide information for the company's R&D. • Support, coordinate, and develop offers and technical solutions. • Convince clients to purchase Sungrow products from a technical standpoint. • Collect market information, including data from emerging markets, industry trends, product standards, and competitor information. • Conduct product training, seminars, client presentations, and/or other stakeholders as necessary. • Attend national and international trade fairs and conferences. • Other tasks related to the position.

Minimum Requirements: • Minimum 3 years of experience in energy storage systems, power electronics, or renewable energy sectors. • Hands-on experience with battery storage technologies, system integration, and grid compliance requirements. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose technical issues effectively. • Proficiency in technical documentation, system simulations, and performance analysis. • Familiarity with SCADA, energy management systems, and communication protocols is a plus. • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required. • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Mandarin is a plus. Education or Desired License and Certificates: • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field. • Certifications in energy storage, power electronics, or related disciplines are advantageous.
